Dr. Srinivas Kilambi, Founder, CEO and CTO, a PhD, CFA, has over 6 years of CXO experience in bio-refineries for Fortune 100 companies. Dr. Kilambi is a chemical engineer, serial entrepreneur and former CEO at $85 Billion India-based conglomerate Reliance Industries and CTO at $80 Billion Tata group. In addition to his industry management and technology accomplishments, he has delivered over 15 presentations in conferences and exhibitions spanning 7 countries; holds over 5 Indian process patents and 6 International and US patents, and has over 5 publications in leading journals.

He holds a PhD in Chemical and Environmental Engineering from University of Tennessee. Kamal Gunsagar, MSEE, is Co-Founder and CSO at Sriya Innovations.  Mr. Gunsagar is a business-savvy entrepreneur with over 40 years of work experience. He has worked as a senior executive or on the Board of multinationals and several startups including Empowertel Networks, Alliance Semiconductor, Vitelic, and Lara Networks, which he founded and served as CEO until the company was sold to Cypress Semiconductor in 2001.  With much of his career focused on international operations, Mr. Gunsagar has developed a plethora of global industry and government contacts. He is adept at mentoring, raising capital, developing products and, creating and managing viable businesses, and over the past decade has centered most of his attention on solar and bio-fuel technologies.

Mr. Gunsagar has patented several inventions and has presented papers at several international conferences while also being published in leading journals. Jagjeet “Jeet” S. Bindra, MBA, MSChE, is a former Chevron Oil executive with over 30 years of illustrious service as a strategic planner, turnaround expert, chief negotiator and accomplished research engineer with various Chevron Companies. In his final role as President of Chevron Global Manufacturing, Mr. Bindra was accountable for profit and loss and organizational capability of the Company’s worldwide manufacturing business, 20 refineries worldwide with capacity of over 2.2 million barrels per day. He orchestrated a successful organizational transformation from a Global Refining business model to a Global Manufacturing business model through strategic business visioning, business modernization and organizational change management focused on instituting accountability systems to deliver superior competitive performance. Step change improvements were achieved in all business performance metrics. As Managing Director & Chief Executive Officer of Australia’s leading oil refining and marketing company, a publicly traded company in which Chevron holds a 50% interest, he led a turnaround of a company near bankruptcy to sustained profitability. He raised capital, managed key relationships (government, regulators, media, unions, shareholders, etc.), developed a long-term business model and engaged the workforce to achieve a step change in business performance resulting in a share price rise of 300%. These are just a couple of the successes of Mr. Bindra’s storied career. Dr. Bill Joy, former Chief Scientist of Sun Microsystems, has more than 40 patents issued or in progress. At Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers, he helps entrepreneurs advance the Internet, develop wireless innovations, and find new ways of using large scale computing to solve the most difficult problems. He also looks to help entrepreneurs who have discoveries and inventions that can solve energy and resource problems, and helps them apply 21st century advances in physics, chemistry and the natural sciences to help create abundance.

Dr. Joy has a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Michigan, a Master's degree in Computer Science from the University of California, Berkeley, and a Ph.D. in Engineering, honoris causa, from the University of Michigan. Dr. Doug Cameron, Chairman of the Board of Advisors, is managing director and chief science advisor at Piper Jaffray. His major responsibility is in building the firm's global franchise in renewable energy and clean technology. Cameron joined Piper Jaffray in August, 2008 from Khosla Ventures in Menlo Park, Calif., one of the premier venture capital firms in clean technology investments. As chief scientific officer at Khosla Ventures, he led technical due diligence for many of the firm’s clean technology investments.

Prior to Khosla Ventures, Dr. Cameron was chief scientist and director of biotechnology at Cargill, Inc. in Minnetonka, Minn., where he built and led Cargill’s corporate biotechnology research group. Dr. Michael Matthews, Chairman of Academic Board of Advisors, a registered Professional Engineer, is Chair and Professor of the Chemical Engineering Department and an Adjunct Professor in the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery at University of South Carolina. His research interests include applications of thermodynamics and mass transfer in green and sustainable chemical processing: supercritical carbon dioxide technology; electrochemistry in ionic liquids and hydrogen generation from chemical hydrides. Dr. Matthew has numerous publications and presentations, and has received several honors and awards. He earned his doctorate, master, and bachelor degrees in chemical engineering from Texas A&M University.

Dr. Robert C. Brown is the Anson Marston Distinguished Professor of Engineering, the Gary and Donna Hoover Chair in Mechanical Engineering, Professor of Chemical and Biological Engineering, Professor of Agricultural and Biosystems Engineering, Director of the Center for Sustainable Environmental Technologies (CSET), and Director of the Bioeconomy Institute at Iowa State University.  His research interests include conversion of biorenewable resources into bioenergy and biobased products, combustion, gasification, fast pyrolysis, hydrogen energy, and hydrodynamics and heat transfer in fluidized beds. He has numerous publications and presentations to his credit. Dr. Brown earned PhD and MS degrees in mechanical engineering from Michigan State University. He has bachelor degrees in mathematics and physics from the University of Missouri.

Dr. David Bruce is an associate professor of chemical and biomolecular engineering at Clemson University. His principal research interests are in the areas of catalysis, kinetics, molecular sieve synthesis, pollution abatement, and molecular modeling. Dr. Bruce earned his doctoral degree in Inorganic Chemistry and bachelor degrees in chemical engineering and chemistry, all from the Georgia Institute of Technology. He has delivered several presentations authored/co-authored numerous publications and is co-owner of multiple patents.

Dr. Anthony Collins is the President of Clarkson University, a nationally ranked research university in Potsdam, New York. A noted scholar-practitioner, he has worked in the environmental, coal and iron mining industries in Australia, and has received awards for outstanding teaching and research, along with being the author of more than 90 professional publications. Dr. Collins earned his doctoral and master degrees from Lehigh University in Pennsylvania. He received his bachelor in engineering from Monash University in Melbourne, Australia.

Dr. Yoon Y. Lee is professor of chemical engineering at Auburn University. His research interests include bioprocessing of lignocellulosic materials for production of fuels and chemicals; bioreactor development for enzyme and microbial process technology; pretreatment/delignification of biomass for enzymatic saccharification and co-fermentation. Dr. Lee has received a number of honors and awards for his research and teaching efforts. He earned a doctorate degree in chemical engineering from Iowa State University. Dr. Armando McDonald is professor of Wood Chemistry & Wood Composites at the University of Idaho. Prior to joining the University of Idaho, Dr. McDonald worked for New Zealand Forest Research Institute as a Scientist in Carbohydrate Chemistry and Senior Scientist in Wood Materials Chemistry. He was also employed with Forest Research as a Project Leader: Material Discovery. His research interests include:

Dr. Phil Savage is a professor in chemical engineering at University of Michigan. He has received numerous awards-i.e. national, university, and college of engineering. Dr. Savage, the Associate Editor of American Institute of Chemical Engineering (AIChE) Journal, earned his doctorial and masters degrees in chemical engineering from the University of Delaware. He has a bachelor degree in chemical engineering from Penn State University.

Dr.  Mani V. Subramanian, is Director, Center for Biotechnology & Bioprocessing (CBB) and Professor, Dept. of Chemical and Biochemical Engineering at the University of Iowa. His research interests include new promoters, enzymes for sensors, biomaterials for biochips, HTP methodologies for target validation, lead discovery, biocatalysis discovery, whole plant screens, and enzyme screens. A noted scholar-practitioner, he has held global leadership, research, and chemist roles for a leading global chemical manufacturer; been issued (16) while filing (7) US and World Patents, along with being the author of over 43 publications and delivering over 80 research presentations. Dr. Subramiam performed post-doctoral research in Microbial biochemistry/genetics at the University of Texas. He holds a Ph.D. in Biochemistry from Indian Institute Science. He also holds M.Sc and B.Sc degrees in Chemistry/Biochemistry and Chemistry & Biology from Bangalore University, India-respectively.

Dr. Harrison Wellford JD, Harrison Wellford has spent 25 years in the alternative energy and political arenas as a Presidential advisor, policy analyst and advocate, senior executive of clean tech companies, entrepreneur and regulatory and project finance lawyer. During his storied career he has advised Democratic President elects, Presidential nominees and Senate Committees on Presidential transition planning

He served as Chairman of Latham & Watkins energy practice where he helped establish the firm’s Clean Technology Group.

In 1992, Dr. Wellford served as White House transition advisor to President-elect Clinton and served on the Economic Policy Group of the Transition Team with responsibility for planning Congressional budget strategy.

In 2004, he chaired Democratic Presidential nominee John Kerry's pre-election transition taskforce responsible for organizing the transition of the White House Staff and the Executive Office of the President.

In 2008, he advised then Senator Obama on White House organization and strategic planning for the Presidential transition during the pre-election period and served as transition advisor after the election.

He currently serves on the Steering Committee for the Green Bank Coalition which helped develop legislation now pending in the Congress to create a government sponsored bank to promote long term investment in clean energy.

Political Experience At the White House from 1977 to 1981, Dr. Wellford was Executive Associate Director of the Office of Management and Budget in the Executive Office of the President, the top managerial policy job in the Executive Branch. He was in charge of management, reorganization and regulatory policy reform for OMB. He served for four years as Executive Director of the President's Reorganization Project which prepared and advocated before Congress executive agency reorganization plans for the Executive Office of the President, the Dept. of Education, the Federal Emergency Preparedness Agency (FEMA), the Nuclear Regulatory Commission, and international trade agencies among others.

During 1976-77, he was head of the Government Reform Task Force for President-elect Carter's Transition Team and prepared the White House staff organization plan for the new President.

During 1980-1981, he served as Presidential Transition Director for Executive Departments and Agencies during the Carter-Reagan transition. In the US Senate between 1972-76, Mr. Wellford served as Chief Legislative Assistant to the late Senator Philip A. Hart, chairman of the Antitrust and Environment Subcommittees in the Senate. Energy Industry Experience In the 1980's, he was a leading advocate for the creation of the competitive power industry and was a founder of the largest trade association for the independent power companies, the National Independent Energy Producers. He served as outside counsel, strategic advisor and investor in two of the leading independent cogeneration power companies created during that time, Intercontinental Energy Corporation and Sithe Energies.

From 1998 to 2000, Dr. Wellford was Vice Chairman of Sithe Energies, Inc., one of the world's largest merchant power generation companies. Since 2000, in addition to ongoing work in mergers and acquisitions and energy project finance, Mr. Wellford has assisted a number of renewable energy, energy efficiency, resource recovery and environmental technology companies with private equity financing, project financing, and mergers and acquisitions.

Dr. Wellford, who has written two books and published numerous articles in Harpers, Atlantic Monthly, The Washington Monthly, the Outlook Section of the Washington Post and other national and professional publications, holds a Ph.D. in Government from Harvard University and a Juris Doctor degree from Georgetown University Law School. He was a Marshall Scholar at Cambridge University and Valedictorian of his graduating class at Davidson College.

He is Treasurer and a founding board member of the Foundation for Art and Preservation in Embassies, a nonprofit that has raised over $35 million to commission leading contemporary artists to produce paintings and sculpture to enhance the cultural ambience of American embassies throughout the world. He has also served as a Trustee of Davidson College. Tim Brown, MBA, joined Sriya in 2009 is Director of Business Development. In this role, Tim is responsible for developing the Company’s long term strategy, business development partnerships and supply chain system as the Company moves towards commercializing its technology.

Prior to Sriya, Tim worked with senior executives at medium to large companies on a variety of domestic and international projects at Bain & Co. as a member of their Atlanta and Stockholm offices. Tim’s focus was on new business and product development, supply chain solutions and helping leading private equity firms evaluate potential targets.

Tim has also previously worked for Ernst & Young in their Boston office and was a gold medal winner for the bi-annual CPA exam in Massachusetts.

Tim received an MBA from the University of Virginia’s Darden School and a Bachelor of Science, Management, from Boston College (Summa Cum Laude).

Dr. Kiran L. Kadam is Vice President of Research & Technology at Sriya Innovations. In this role, he is responsible for process development, engineering and scale-up of biomass conversion into fuels and chemicals using hydrothermal technology.

Before joining Sriya Innovations, Dr. Kadam was Director of Process Development at PureVision Technology, Inc. He has held senior leadership roles in R&D and engineering design at National Renewable Energy Laboratory, Miles Labs, Inc, and Fluor Daniel, Inc. Dr. Kadam is an expert in the development and scale-up of integrated bioprocesses, especially, biomass-to-ethanol technologies. He has a broad background in the operation of pilot and commercial scale plants, especially with fermentation and downstream processing equipment. He also has extensive management experience in R&D projects for bioproducts / biofuels, economic and engineering analysis, and design of pilot- and industrial-scale biotechnology plants.

His list of publications include: one book; six patents; ten book chapters; over 100 publications, technical reports, and presentations at national and international scientific meetings.

Dr. Kadam earned a PhD in Chemical Engineering from Virginia Polytechnic Institute & State University. 

Bruce Wobeck, Esq. joined The Sriya Group of Companies as Vice President and General Counsel in 2010. Mr. Wobeck serves as the chief legal officer. Prior to joining Sriya, Mr. Wobeck was a partner in the Finance and Real Estate Capital Markets Practices and was Chairman of the Green Industry Practice of Morris, Manning, & Martin. LLP. His finance and real estate capital markets practice included the representation of companies and investors in the equity and debt financing and development and operation of commercial and industrial projects. As chair of the Green Business Practice, Mr. Wobeck represented developers of alternative energy technologies and other clean technologies.

Mr. Wobeck is a member of the Clean Technology Committee of the American-Israel Chamber of Commerce and the Georgia Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency Tax Credit Coalition. He is active in a number of other organizations serving the clean technology and commercial real estate industries.

In 1986, Mr. Wobeck was admitted to the State Bar of Georgia (Corporate and Banking and Environmental Sections). He holds a B.A. from Emory University and MBA from the Goizueta Business School at Emory University. (Beta Gamma Sigma). He earned is Juris Doctorate (JD) from University of Michigan.

Dr. Sreehari (Sree) Nimmala is a Senior Director of Science and Quality Assurance with over 12 years of experience in the development of formulations, processes and products for coatings, adhesives, inks and electronics applications. He is responsible for directing and managing the company’s analytical, quality control and quality assurance activities.

Before joining Sriya, Dr. Nimmala held technical, senior, and lead chemist roles for Georgia-Pacific Resins, Inc., Arkwright, Inc., Kimoto Tech, Inc., and Climax Engineered Materials. He is adept in wet chemistry and in using a wide range of analytical and characterization techniques, and is very knowledgeable of ISO-9001, 9002 and other Quality Assurance (QA) / Quality Control (QC) methods and procedures. Additionally, he demonstrates an excellent working knowledge with various polymeric materials, micro/nano sized pigment, particle and metal dispersions, surfactants, wetting agents, corrosion inhibitors, anti-foaming agents, UV and light absorbers, thickening agents, biocides, fungicides and other additives.

Dr. Nimmala has authored 8 Publications in peer reviewed scientific journals, owns 2 Patents and has delivered several Conference Presentations.

He is a member of the American Chemical Society and earned a PhD in Applied Chemistry from Indian Institute of Technology, Madras, India. He also holds a MS in Physical Chemistry and a Bachelor degree in Chemistry, Mathematics and Physics from Osmania University, Hyderabad, India.

Mike Simard, MBA, MSME, PE, PMP, is currently Director of Projects at Sriya Innovations. In this role, he is responsible for the engineering, procurement and construction of Sriya's nano-biorefineries including the first demonstration-plant aimed at demonstrating the company’s technology on an industrial scale. Before joining Sriya Innovations, Mr. Simard has held senior positions in both project and operations management in the power generation and building material industries. He has led the construction and start-up of large manufacturing facilities and as worked internationally in Europe, China and Australia. He is also a successful entrepreneur.

Originally from Canada, Mr. Simard’s education consists of a Bachelor’s in Mechanical Engineering (University of Sherbrooke), a MS in Mechanical Engineering (University of Montreal) and a M.B.A. (Simon Fraser University). He is a licensed Professional Engineer (Georgia), certified Project Management Professional and Six Sigma Green Belt.

Dr. Zhi Tao is Director of Research and Development. Dr. Tao leads the process research efforts for manufacturing high value products from each of the individual woody biomass fractions. She is currently working on continuous process systems both for improving biomass fractionation, and conversion of the resultant fractions to products suitable for sale.

Prior to Sriya, Dr. Tao held roles in the Department of Chemical Engineering at Vanderbilt University (Teaching Assistant / Research Assistant) and worked as an intern at one of the largest petrochemical companies in Beijing China.

Dr. Tao has extensive research and professional experience gained from multiple projects using knowledge from the fields of Kinetics, Transport and process control. Also she has worked on computational modeling with excellent understanding of polymer chemistry, thermodynamics and computational chemistry.

Dr. Tao holds a PhD in Chemical Engineering from Vanderbilt University and a BS in Chemical Engineering from Beijing Technology and Business University, Beijing China.

Dr. Frank L. Harper, Jr., Director of Commerce and Information Technology (IT), is responsible for procurement, supply chain intelligence, process improvements, architecture, program management, infrastructure, security, and technical solutions enabling Sriya to run daily administrative/lab/plant operations, build nano-biorefineries and commercialize its technology. 

Before joining Sriya, Dr. Harper, an international entrepreneur, was Managing Director and Chief Learning Officer for a leading Oracle Consulting Partner; Deputy Chief Information Officer (CIO) and Director of Program Management Office (PMO) for the city of Atlanta, Georgia. He has led strategic business technology-enabled initiatives for MCI-Worldcom, Sterling Software, McDonald’s Corporation, The Coca Cola Company, Keane, General Electric and Sikorsky Aircraft.  His cost reduction research paper, “Determining Trim Waste Cost using Linear Programming” was presented at major universities and corporations in 5 continents.

A philanthropist, Dr. Harper has been recognized by international, federal, state, city, and local leaders for his contributions. He is a former board member to the Georgia School Age Care Association.

Dr. Harper, a member of the Project Management Institute, Institute of Industrial Engineers, and Information Systems Audit and Control Association, earned a PhD in Administration and Management, with Distinction, from Columbia Commonwealth University. He holds a MBA in Marketing, MS in Industrial Engineering, and Bachelor’s in Computer Technology (Cum Laude) from the University of New Haven. He holds certifications in: Project Management (PMP), IT Service Management (ITIL) and Six Sigma Green Belt. Dr. Harper has appeared in numerous Who’s Who [High School, College, Professional, and Executive] publications.

Mike Griffin, BSChE, is a chemical engineer with over 10 years broad manufacturing and engineering experience.

Prior to Sriya Innovations, Mike worked for Archer Daniels Midland (ADM) in the UK where he managed the refinery of a vegetable oil processing plant. Before joining ADM, Mike worked as a production manager for Britvic Soft Drinks Ltd.

He began his career by completing Britvic’s fast-track engineering management program, and then progressed through a number of roles in the areas of Project Management, Production Management, and New Product Development.

Mike has a Bachelors degree in Chemical Engineering (Honors) from the University of Birmingham, UK.
